Establishment of Independent Behavioral Health Practice Adam Middleton, CHBC, Healthcare Advisory Network, LLC Until relatively recently Behavioral Health services were largely provided by health systems and not-for profit Community Mental Health Clinics. Due to the mainstream acceptance of the need for behavioral health services, parity payment regulations, the opioid and COVID epidemics the need for new treatment options has led many BH providers to desire to open independent practices. BH practices have many similarities to a traditional medical practices but they are far from the same! In this session we will address some of the main components of establishing a BH practice: Business structure, provider types, services offered and the operational needs and pitfalls that leads to a successful practice.
